The Adventure Begins - The Process
Several years ago, while pursuing a Master of Fine Arts Degree, I was divinely led down a road of print making, pattern design, and textile design. My first patterns and colour pallets were inspired by the historic chateau, Vaux-le-Vicomte, in France.
That amazing adventure in pattern design helped me realize my underlying love of patterns and pattern making that had been a part of my creative world without me seeing it. That experience sparked a desire for further education in historic buildings. Studying Historic Building Conservation increased my love of the historical heritage found in buildings around the world.
It is a thrill when I find inspiration in the simple and sometimes hidden details in historic architectural and interior details.
Historic buildings have become the foundational inspiration for most of the collections I have and will designed.
Surface Pattern Design is a new avenue for me and I am excited to see where it goes!
I will not be sharing actual patterns here but I will share my process.
