Strolling Along the Thames

Sunday was a peaceful day and it was raining so of course I grabbed my umbrella and headed out for a stroll along the Thames. I decided to head left off of the street where I live since I had not ventured that direction on foot. The path only continued alongside the Thames for a mile or so then I turned around and headed back home. I found evidence fall is in full swing, saw some interesting buildings and found a little guy in desperate need of his morning coffee...
What a beautiful start for a Monday! I'm usually up early so I decided to take a walk and it was idyllic. Not many people were out except for a few runners and dog walkers. There was a gentil mist on the still water. The swans were still slumbering with their heads tucked back beneath their wings. (I suppose they have those long necks for a reason)The first part of the walk path I have traversed several times on my way to the shopping district. Today, since I did not have a destination, I decided to keep walking along the Thames and I am so glad I did. As I passed under the bridge it felt like I had entered a new dimension. The path meandered behind well kept buildings, along a park where I could imagine cricket matches taking place, through trees and the views on either side were breathtaking. Hopefully the pictures do it justice. I could live out  the rest of my days in one of the small homes on the edge of the tames....
