Bonjour France!

For me, there is just something about the French countryside that pulls at my heart and then there is the food . . . the fabulous food!! I think we tried something from almost every patisserie and boulangerie we passed by. There are some amazing things to see in Paris and for the first two days we stayed in an Airbnb very near the Louvre. We wandered the streets, strolled along the Seine and ate a lot of amazing food. But Paris is big and busy even in the off season so we were happy that we chose to only spend a few days in the city of lights.
Next we rented a car and headed for Fontaine le Pont, in the countryside. On our way we stopped for a visit to Vaux-le-Vicomte, one of my favorite places, which my family has heard me talk about for years, so it was a pleasure to take them there so they could experience it in person. The chateau is enchanting! The had added some new aspects to the experience like actors dressed in period costume and acting out events in various rooms. They have also added a projected evolution of the grand salon to show what it might have been if it had been completely finished, so cool! Vaux-le-Vicomte is still my favorite historic building.
Fontaine la Pont was our destination. It is on the Seine and not far from Fontainebleu. It was delightful, peaceful and we wish we could have stayed longer, okay maybe forever. The little village had a historic church, a boulangerie and some of the nicest people!
France has enveloped more of my heart..... Au revoir, for now...
